Inspired by fictional town of Ellinia from MapleStory, this tank features a lush grassy floor that leads to a thick forested wall of Christmas moss where broad leaves of Anubis extend outwards. This tank is specifically made for Betta fish (also known as the Siamese fighting fish) in mind. The broad leaves of Anubias barteri var. nana that rests against the mossy wall is designed to be the ideal resting place for Betta fish, as they prefer to rest on leaves close to the surface of the water.
Please note that this particular aquarium design requires 30 to 45 days in order for plant growth and biological cycling to be completed. Please expect slight differences in hardscape since we use natural stone sourced from Asia that will vary in texture, size, and shape. Also expect variation in plant looks and growth.
Weekly care includes topping-off additional water that may have evaporated, cutting plants that may have overgrown, and cleaning the filter sponge. Otherwise, minimal care and attention is required.
Maintenance (minutes per week): 10 minutes
This is the time estimated for the minimal care of this tank. Please refer to the Maintenance Difficulty panel to see the specific tasks involved in the maintenance of this tank.
Aquarium: Spec Aquarium Kit, 5 US Gal (19 L), Black
This aquarium is built off the Fluval Spec Aquarium Kit.
Light: Low (Lighting Included)
The minimum requirement for these plants is low light, or 15-30 micromols of PAR. This can be achieved by placing an LED desk lamp above the surface of the water, or by purchasing an aquarium light. Please contact us if you have any questions about lighting.
Substrate: Miracle Gro Organic Soil
The substrate of an aquarium refers to the material used on the tank bottom. It can affect water chemistry, filtration, and the well-being of the aquarium's inhabitants, and is also an important part of the aquarium's aesthetic appeal.
Gravel: Seachem Flourite® Black Sand
This refers to the use of small pebbles or sand.
This refers to the use of stones, driftwood, or anything else natural that would serve as a decoration, habitat, or visual enhancement to the environment.
Filter: Sump Filter Included
A filter basically cleans the water of debris, removes the toxic buildup of ammonia and nitrates, and aerates the water so your fish can breathe.
It is recommended to use a fertilizer that will provide the plants with the required macro and micro nutrients needed to be healthy.
